It reads, it does not write

The folder is opened read-only. This page does not create, change or delete any of your files. Your notes remain plain markdown that opens in any editor, with or without us.

What the fingerprint proves — and what it does not

The fingerprint changes if any file changes. That lets you notice an accidental change: a sync that went wrong, a file truncated, a folder that is not the one you thought.

It is not proof against someone deliberately changing things. Anyone who can edit your files can recompute the fingerprint too. It makes change visible; it does not make change impossible. We will not describe it as tamper-proof, because it is not.

Not a backup

Reading a folder here does not copy it anywhere. If your folder is lost, this page cannot bring it back. Keep your own backups.

What we do not claim

No encryption claim, because this build does not encrypt anything — your files are already on your device and stay there. No guarantee about how long any format will remain readable. No comparison with other note tools.

Limits

Very large files are skipped rather than loaded, and the page says how many. Very large folders may be slow, because all the work happens on your device — that is the trade we chose.
